Are we still Shipping out Orders?

Yes, we are a small business based in a rural location and are rotating our staff in the office to ensure social distancing. This is allowing us to continue to ship out all orders in a timely manner. As long as our couriers are still able to pick up the orders, we plan to continue to ship out wellies. This will be updated if anything changes, but do please be aware there are staff shortages with the couriers, so there may be some delivery delays.

How much does delivery cost?

Unlike many other on-line retailers that have rules and small print, we’re delighted to be able to provide FREE DELIVERY on all our products to all UK domestic locations. 

 - There are no minimum order sizes or exceptions

For other destinations, prices are:

  • ROI, France, Germany, Netherlands & Belgium from £14.99
  • Rest of Europe from £19.99
  • RoW from £39.99 (for US residents, you can now save shipping costs, as our extra wide fit wellies are available on www.jileonrainboots.com with stock in the US)

Are they any extra charges for shipments to the EU?

Unfortunately due to Brexit, you may now be charged some local duties and taxes in your country based on local rates on top of the product cost. You will be contacted directly by your local customs authority to pay this before they will be delivered. We understand this is not ideal but we are a UK based company and this is now mandatory. We believe the fees are your VAT rate plus a £5 admin fee currently.

Please be aware that if you do refuse to pay the customs fees, the boots will be sent back to us, and as we are still charged for the shipping costs plus the return costs, we will have to deduct 20% from any refund to cover this.

How long does delivery take?

Being free doesn’t mean it should take a long time. But, delivery times do vary and depend on both the value of the boot that you’re buying and you’re location. 

For all our orders over £40, we’re able to offer a free next day delivery* service if you place your order by 12:00 p.m.

Can I pick my order up?

Just because we’re on-line doesn’t mean you can’t come and visit us. We know how tricky it is to get the right size boot, so we’re happy if you want to try our boots before you buy them or if you want to “click and collect”.  Our postcode is RG17 7LX but, please call us before you visit.  Our opening times are 10:00 – 14:00 Monday to Friday only.

Can boots of <£40 be delivered faster?

Of course!  However, there is an additional charge of £3.99 for this service. 

How do I know when my order will be delivered? 

Assuming you’ve given us a correct mobile or e-mail address, DPD Local will contact you with a one hour delivery window.  If this doesn’t suit you, you have the option to ask for the delivery to be left with a neighbour, in a safe place or to arrange a more suitable time.  We’re delighted with DPD Local's performance.  Their service means that there’s no more waiting around for a delivery between 8am and 6pm.

If you miss the courier, a calling card will be left saying that no one was home. There’s a phone number for you to ring and arrange a more convenient time. The below video is a great summary of how the service works.

Any Royal Mail orders will be delivered with your usual postal deliveries, but do not have any guaranteed delivery times. 

What if my items don’t arrive?

Please allow up to 7 working days for items shipped using Royal Mail.  After this time, please contact your local sorting office as they may have tried to deliver whilst you were out and not left a card (it does happen). If they don’t have your parcel, please contact us directly and we’ll see what we can do.

For items shipped via DPD Local, allow 2 working days before making contact.  You can either contact DPD Local directly or us to trace missing parcels. 

What happens if there’s a delay in despatching your order?

In the unlikely event that there’s a delay in despatching your order, we will inform you via e-mail or phone.

Returns Policy over the Christmas Period.

Our usual policy is 14 days from receiving the order but this will be extended over the Christmas Period. All orders placed between now and Christmas will have until the 20 January 2021 to be returned to us.
